The newest hoax on Facebook - Who followed me?

 Facebook, Facebook hoax     No comments

The newest hoax on Facebook - follow me, has gained so much popularity this week is scaring some people into thinking they are being stalked by unknown people.

The newest hoax on Facebook- follow me

Facebook users are being cheated into thinking and spreading the myth that a hidden list could expose who your stalkers are.
It further goes ahead to declare that those followers would be secretly stalking you, your statuses and updates.
The rumor claims that Facebook will give you the list if you go to your ''Settings'' - to ''blocking and privacy'', and type in ''following me''

Realistically, when you type into the search bar, Facebook WILL give you a list of friends, places, etc. So, what you are seeing is actually just a list of people who share some letters with the words ''following'' and ''me''. so, typing ''following me'' into a search bar will simply display a list of other users with “following” or “me” in their names or contact information.
According to Facebook’s Help Center, you go to the right corner and select settings, then click public posts, then select friends or public next to who can follow me to see your genuine followers.

Fortunately, the hoax is just a myth.

How to Hide Your Facebook Friend List from Friends and Others

Facebook Friends, Friends, Friends List     No comments

As you know, by default, Facebook keeps your friends list public and visible to every other Facebook user but you've got the choice of hiding it from other Facebook friends. Let's see how to hide friends list from Facebook friends.
Now, a user has control on almost everything in their profile (e.g. status, photos, albums etc). The user also has the control of how they want to share material (e.g. with everyone, friends, friends of friends, etc). Users can even manually hide a status from specific people.

If you don’t want strangers to see your friend list, then you can just hide it from them. It’s very easy. You can use the enhanced Facebook privacy settings to modify your friend list’s visibility.

One thing which I have noticed when you keep your friend list public is that many people see that list and start adding friends blindly.

And seeing common friends, other friends usually accept the friend request. It’s kind of embarrassing when your female friend informs you that some mutual friend of yours has sent her a friend request.

It’s better to let your friend list be visible only to you and hidden from others.

How to Hide Facebook Friend List from Others

By default, everyone can see the Friends section of your profile. To adjust who can see your Friends section:
Go to your profile
Click Friends below your cover photo
Click at the top of the page and select Edit Privacy from the dropdown menu

Hide Facebook Friend List from Friends and Others

Select an audience (ex: Friends, Public) to choose who you share your friend list with on your profile.

Hide Facebook Friend List to only me

Note: People may see mutual friends when they visit your profile. Your friends also control who can see their friendships on their own profiles. If people can see your friendship on another profile, they'll also be able to see it in News Feed, search and other places on Facebook. Now, on your Facebook friend list page, simply click on the “Manage” icon at the top right & click on “Edit Privacy”.'

From here you can control who can see your friend list and who can’t. I usually keep it visible to me only, as this is better for the privacy of my friends because I don’t want them to be bombarded with unlimited friend requests.

If you don’t want anyone to see your Facebook friend list, keep the “Who can see your friend list” setting to “Only Me”.

Conclusion

Keeping your Facebook friend list visible to other people is totally a thing of choice, but my humble suggestion would be to keep it hidden and private to you alone for the privacy of your true friends.

How to make Your Facebook Private

Facebook, Make Facebook private     No comments

Facebook is a wonderful tool you can use in keeping in touch with old friends, family and anyone else you care to talk to. But that digital freedom comes at a cost: your privacy. Fortunately there are ways to make sure that only the people you want to see your Facebook profile can – unless of course somebody knows your password.

The steps to making your Facebook private is actually relatively easy once you familiarize yourself with the increasingly bloated user-interface. So where do you begin? Read on.

1. Privacy Shortcuts
There are two easy ways to get to the necessary privacy settings of your Facebook profile. In the top right, you will see a button to the right of your name – it has a padlock sign on it and three horizontal lines. Press it and then select 'See More Settings' at the bottom.
How to make your Facebook private
On the other hand, you can click the little cog settings button located in the very top right next to the aforementioned Privacy Short button and then select "Settings" from the drop-down menu. The end result is exactly the same in either case. Now you can set your privacy to your standard.

2. Who can see my stuff?
Under the Privacy Settings and Tools heading you will see three questions in bold letters: "Who can see my stuff?", "Who can contact me?" and "Who can look me up?". Let's start with the first heading on the list.
i) "Who can see your future posts?": click the edit button on the far right. Select who you want to see your future Facebook posts from the drop-down menu. Naturally, public will be the opposite of private so set it to "friends" if you only want Facebook friends to see them.
Search terms:how do you make everything on your facebook private?how to make your facebook profile picture privatehow to make your facebook photos privatehow to make facebook private on app
How to make your Facebook private
Also you can select "only me" if you want only yourself to see what you post, or click "Custom". Custom allows you to select specific options including "Don't share with", meaning you can choose a particular Facebook friend or friends you no longer wish to share posts with. You can also block lists you are a part of, such as a school network.
If there is a post you want to limit the visibility of, the "Review all your posts and things you're tagged in" setting located below allows you to do just that. Hit the "activity log" button and use the pen edit button to delete specific entries you no longer wish to share.

ii) Who can contact me?
If you want to stop getting messages in your inbox from people who aren't your Facebook friends, you can use the message-filtering option under "Who can contact me?". Switch it from basic filtering to strict filtering to only see messages from friends in your inbox. Doing so will keep random messages from strangers at bay.

iii) Who can look me up?
Maybe you want to limit who can look up your Facebook profile. The "Who can look me up?" options allows you to set your privacy to your preference in this regard. With friends enabled, only your friends can look you up using your email address.
The same options can be said for your phone number i.e., if you entered one into Facebook. Again, you can select the friends option for the highest level of privacy.

Finally, you can choose whether search engines such as Bing and Google can be linked to your Timeline. A simple tick box option is all it will take to really shut your Facebook profile off from the world wide web. As Facebook states, this option can take a while to come into effect so don't panic if it seems like you are still coming up on search engines.

Do you want ultimate privacy?
To really ensure your privacy, there is always the option of leaving Facebook entirely. Of course, this is a drastic course of action but something like online bullying could force your hand (in which case, you should seek support). Or maybe you are just tired of sharing everything so publicly. Keywords:

How to Add an Admin to a Facebook page

Add Facebook admin, Facebook Page     No comments

Are you having difficulty adding an Admin to your Facebook Page? This article will help you answer that question
How to Add an Admin to a Facebook page

1. Visit Settings on top of your Web page, then choose Page Responsibilities on the left sidebar.
How to Add an Admin to a Facebook page

Once you exist, you could include the e-mail address of the individual you wish to add as an Admin and also pick their level of accessibility to your Web page. The e-mail address needs to be the e-mail address that they use to log in to Facebook. Make certain you are providing them the suitable level of accessibility to your Web page!

How to Add an Admin to a Facebook page

How to Add an Admin to a Facebook page

Then when you see ''See All'', you can click the wheel beside their name as well as click ''Make Admin''.

How to Add an Admin to a Facebook page

The quickest and most convenient way to add an Admin to your Facebook Page you are having difficulty is to have them unlike your Page and also re-Like it. After that click ''See All'' next and then click ''Make Admin'' close to their name.
If the Admin Responsibility area says ''Pending'' beside their name then have them inspect www.facebook.com/pages while they are visited to Facebook and look under the Invites area. Invites to end up being an Admin sometimes turn up there.

How to add an Admin to a Facebook page
It is advisable for you to have at least one individual profile as an Admin of your Facebook Page, instead of a Business-only Page. If you don't, your Business-only Web page will have some limitations consisting of:

1. No Search bar at the top of the Facebook Web page: You will not have the ability to browse far as well as navigate to various other Pages when you are logged right into this account.

2. No chance to like various other pages as your page: If you have a Service-only account, you cannot like another page to show your assistance for that Page or get in touch with that Page.

3. No Page Residence Feed: Considering the fact that you can't like various other Pages as your web page, you won't obtain updates as your web page via your very own web page information feed.

4. You may have to offer a different cell number to confirm this account: This feature is different and also not consistent. However many individuals who have actually created a web page in this manner say that they require a different cell number that is different from their personal profile account to confirm this Business Only Web page. Not everybody has the same telephone number.

5. No ability to utilize the Invite Buddies function on the Admin Panel: Obviously, if you are bent on keeping your Facebook profiles separate after that, this could be a function you might not be interested in however, it's a fairly easy to link several of your personal pals to your Web page.

The Page as well as the Profile are extremely different on a Web page that is connected to a personal profile. No person can see who owns the Page and also the limitations of the Organisation Only Page are substantial.

If you have produced a Business-only Web page and wish to rectify the circumstance, all you need to do is to add an individual profile as an admin and also you will certainly have all the capability of a regular Page.

There has been a record of people having trouble including Admins to a Facebook Page. You may obtain a message claiming the Admin should be a friend or must Like the Web page. See the screenshot below and find out how to fix it.

How to Cancel Or Delete My Facebook Account Right Now | Facebook Delete Option - Block & Close FB Profile Permanently: While Facebook remains is a useful handy tool for keeping in touch with families, friends, events organization, etc..., we should also keep in mind that it has become bigger and far too powerful than the small social site many of us originally signed up to. As such, if you feel like quitting Facebook, the decision is solely yours especially if you don't know your way around some basic Facebook settings.

How to Delete & Close My Facebook Account Right Now | Facebook Delete Option - Block & Cancel FB Profile Permanently

Facebook has at many instances been called out for a wide range of perceived misdemeanors. In some situation, it's long been viewed as a rather sinister threat to privacy and criticised for its tax practices, but more recent issues, such as the spread of fake news, the site’s approach to illegal content and incredibly disturbing uses of Facebook Live are particularly troubling.
Howbeit, for many, it’s simply a colossal waste of time.

Regardless of why you want to cut ties with Facebook, here’s how to deactivate and delete your account now.

Deactivate

Unless you’re absolutely sure you want to get rid of your Facebook account once and for all, we’d recommend going down the deactivation route.

To deactivate your Facebook account:
  • Click the downwards-pointing arrow in the top-right corner of the screen
  • Select Settings
  • Open the Security section
  • Choose the Deactivate Your Account option at the bottom of the menu

Deleting your account is a major step, so think it through before committing. Facebook can take up to 90 days to process account deletion requests, but once your account's gone, it’s gone.
Before taking the plunge, it’s well worth downloading a copy of the data Facebook has on you.
To do this:
  • Click the downwards-pointing arrow in the top-right corner of the screen
  • Select Download a copy of your Facebook data

If you don't want someone to see your profile, add you as a friend or send you a message, you can block them.

Note: If you unfriend someone, you'll be removed from that person's friends list as well. If you want to be friends with this person again, you'll need to add them as a friend again.

Ghost profile friend request, auto-liking photos, videos and posts on Facebook

     Facebook Ghost Profile     No comments

Ghost profile friend request and liking content on Facebook: My wife has received Facebook notification that someone had accepted a friend request that she did not send. This "new Facebook friend" has liked content but does not show up in her friend's list at all so there is no way to unfriend or block this "person". The profile also does not show up on Facebook when you search the name.
