See when to start advertising on Facebook- Facebook advertising is a powerful tool that can help you grow your business and reach new people on and off Facebook. But deciding when to advertise on Facebook—or if Facebook advertising is right for you—may not be straightforward. This guide will help you identify if advertising on Facebook is a good option for your business.

Smart links: Create A Unique Facebook Business Account

Below are signs that show you that you need to start advertising:

1) You're already growing your online presence and want to extend your reach further

If you're already using Facebook and other online resources to your advantage, then Facebook advertising may be a natural next step to reach more of the people you care about. If you're mindset/mentality is growth focused and looking to build your audience, reach new people and drive results you care about, then give advertising a try.
Note: Before you can start advertising on Facebook, there are a few key steps you should take. To start, you'll need to make sure you've created a Facebook Page for your business and that your Page is set up for success. Your Facebook Page can add credibility to your Facebook ads and gives people a place to go to learn more about your business. Keep in mind that any ads you create that show up on Facebook will include your Page's profile picture and name in the top-right corner, both of which people can click to view your Page.

2) You're looking to try digital advertising for the first time

Facebook offers a suite of advertising tools to fit the needs of all advertisers. For those brand new to digital advertising, we offer lightweight ad creation tools that allow you to create, manage and track the success of your ads directly from your Facebook Page.
For those looking for more advertising options, Ads Manager allows advertisers to create, manage and access advanced advertising features.
So regardless of where you're at in your digital advertising journey, there are tools on Facebook that can help you get started creating ads, reaching people where they are and understanding the value of communicating with your customers in the digital world.

3) Facebook ads align with your business goals

Facebook advertising should help you meet your business goals, and you should pick the types of ads you want to create based on the goals you already have. If you don't have specific goals for your business, start by brainstorming goals and then look to see how Facebook advertising can help you reach them.
Example of business goals and recommended ad types
Example GoalRecommended Product
I want to drive engagement on my Facebook posts.Try boosting your post.
I want more people to visit my website.Try website promotions.
I want people to book an appointment.Try promoting a call to action.
I want people to attend my event. Try promoting your event.

4) You want to find new customers

Facebook can help you connect with your current customers and find new customers who are similar. To reach new people, you can even use tools such as Lookalike Audiences. A Lookalike Audience can be built based on fans or your Page or from a Custom Audience you've created by uploading your customer list. A Lookalike Audience works by identifying the common qualities of people in your audience (ex, the people who like your Page) and then finds people who are similar to (or "look like") them. You can target ads to these Lookalike Audiences to expand your reach, find new customers and grow your business.

5) You're interested in learning more about your customers

When you run ads on Facebook, you'll get access to ad insights. To access these insights, you can go to your Page's Insights tab or Ads Manager. You'll be able to see current updates on how a particular promotion is performing. For example, you can see how your audience is responding, where your audience is from, their age demographics and more. You'll also see data related to the goal of your ad. For example, if you boosted a post, you can track the number of engagements the post received from the people who saw your ad.
When you start tracking your ads, you can leverage those insights to inform business decisions, like the types of people you'd like to target and how.

See how much it costs to Advertise on Facebook

Advertising on Facebook, Facebook     No comments

See how much it costs to Advertise on Facebook- You tell Facebook how much you want to spend on advertising. Then we'll try to get you as many results as possible for that amount. If you want to spend $5 a week, you can. If you want to spend $50,000 a week, you can do that too.
Note: Some types of advanced ads require a minimum amount of spend to work. You'll be notified of this while creating them.

WHEN SHOULD YOU START ADVERTISING ON FACEBOOK?

The basics of cost

There are two ways to define cost:
  • Overall amount spent
  • Cost of each result you get
You control your overall amount spent through your budget. You control your cost per result through your bid strategy. (If you're not sure what to bid, we can automatically bid for you with the intent of spending your budget evenly throughout your ad's run time.) In addition, we offer other ways to ensure you spend no more than you want to:
  • Campaign spending limit. Set a maximum amount you're willing to spend on a given advertising campaign.
  • Account spending limit. Set a maximum amount you're willing to spend across all the campaigns you're running.

What you get from Facebook ads

There are two primary things you get from a Facebook ad:
  • The ability to reach a certain number and type of people.
  • As many of the results you care about (as expressed by the type of boost/promotion you choose on your Page or the optimization event choice you make in ad set creation) as possible from those people.
Given the characteristics of your ad (including its budget, bid, and targeting), we estimate the number of people you can reach and results you can get before you actually order your ad. This can help you decide if you want to order the ad or not. Learn how to view your estimated results.
During and after your campaign, we'll send you notifications about the performance of your ad. You can also view your results on the Insights tab of your Page (if you create the ad from your Page), or in Ads Manager. We recommend viewing your results during and after your campaign. In addition to helping you understand what you got from your ad, it can also help you make adjustments to hit your performance goals.
If we're not able to get you the result you care about within the constraints of your budget, target and bid strategy, we'll stop delivering your ad. You won't get charged unless we're getting you results.

Where to buy Facebook ads

There are two interfaces for buying Facebook ads:
  • Your Page. This is the simplest way to buy ads, but lacks some customization options Ads Manager has. You can do it on a mobile device, a computer or the Pages Manager app.
  • Ads Manager. This interface guides you through the creation of a campaign. It's available on computers and as a mobile app.

Advert Preferences: What it means and how to adjust them

Advertising on Facebook, Facebook     No comments

Advert Preferences: What it means and how to adjust them- Your ad preferences are a way to learn why you’re seeing a particular ad, and control how we use information about you on and off Facebook to decide which ads to show you.

To view and adjust your ad preferences:
  1. Click the or near the top-right corner of any ad on Facebook.
  2. Select Why am I seeing this?.
You’ll see an explanation of why you’re seeing the ad, and you can add or remove yourself from audiences who are shown that ad. Click Manage your ad preferences to see more audiences you’re a part of that influence which ads you see on Facebook. You can also view and adjust your ad preferences here.
Changing your ad preferences influences which ads you see, but it won’t change the total number of ads you see. Keep in mind that advertisers sometimes ask Facebook to show similar ads to multiple audiences, or to wide audiences. For example, a company might want to reach people who like sports. If you remove yourself from the audience of people who like football, but not from the audience of people who like basketball, you could still see the company’s ad.
Note: Facebook always uses information about your age, gender, location and the devices you use to access Facebook when deciding which ads to show you.

How do I move multiple friends simultaneously to a friend list?

     Friends List     No comments

How do I move multiple friends simultaneously to a friend list? - Particularly, how do I move multiple friends simultaneously from one friend list to another list? I have too many friends to think of their names off the top of my head and type them in one by one. In my particular situation, I have several friends in a "Limited Profile" list (old school Facebook days) that I would now like to move to the "Restricted" list. There are currently 400+ friends in my "Limited Profile" group and I refuse to do this one by one. Would sooner deactivate my account.

    1. Go here https://web.facebook.com/bookmarks/lists click Restricted.
    2. Click "Add Friends to this List" or "Manage List".
    3. Select "Friends" from the menu. It will display all your friends.
    4. Then start selecting one by one to add them.

This method is much easier than going to their Timelines and ad them to a Restricted List individually.
